Help out TDA staffer Micah Markson

If you haven’t already heard, I’m leaving Saturday June 1st to ride from Toronto to St. John’s, Newfoundland.

This ride is part of a project called Ride For A Dream, started by my friend Alexander Waddling. Last year, Ride For A Dream was created as a campaign to end violence against women and Alex and Danny biked from Toronto to Vancouver. Their main goal was to raise awareness about the issue of gender-based violence and particularly to encourage men to talk about it. They also raised money for the White Ribbon Campaign. This time we are raising money for the Barbra Schlifer Clinic, which provides legal help and counselling to women who have experienced violence. Ride For A Dream has also expanded: there are now four riders (including me!) and we will have a car following us to make a documentary and carry our supplies.

In just over one month of riding, we will travel nearly 4,000 km from Toronto to St. John’s, including detours to P.E.I. and Halifax and the full northern route around Newfoundland. We will be leaving on Saturday, June 1st at noon from Yonge and Dundas Square – and you are all invited to come! We would love for you to attend. Bring your bike if you can and ride with us as far as you want – whether it’s five minutes or 50 kilometres.

You can read more about Ride For A Dream here: http://www.rideforadream.ca

Please support us in whichever ways you can:

Thank you so much for your attention, and I hope to see some of you at the launch on June 1st!
