Good News from the Silk Route

Today we have good news to report from the Silk Route Tour.

After yesterday’s update where we posted that the Tour was stuck in Khorog due to unrest in the area, we can now report that, thanks to a lot of effort and co-operation between our field staff, local contacts, embassies, the riders themselves and our office staff, all riders and staff have departed from the disputed area and are expected to arrive in the capital of Dushanbe on Saturday.  In fact, 10 riders have been fortunate enough to have been airlifted and are already in that city.

All participants are accounted for and in good health. At this point we expect the tour to resume and depart from Dushanbe as scheduled next Wednesday.
