Showers

Welcome to Ethiopia! The riders awoke today in our third country of the tour, refreshed after enjoying showers courtesy of a local business establishment. This was a non-race day, so the riders (and especially the racers) were able to take the time to really enjoy and explore their first day here. The countryside is continually changing, as we passed from Sudanese desert into the rolling hills of Ethiopia. The locals are not quite as shy as those in Sudan, and children will come right up saying “You, you!” (oh, just you wait!! – TDA office) and want to touch us and the bikes. It was a long, hard 95 km in the heat and hills for most of the riders, but everyone reached our bush camp in good spirits despite being tired, and were able to take in the incredible scenery around us. Looking forward to our arrival in Gondar tomorrow, and the first of two rest days!
